Vacations and Interim Housing

 All residence halls will be closed to visitation when school is not in session.  Students wishing to stay in the residence halls during these times due to extenuating circumstances must receive authorization from the Office of Housing and Residence Life and are subject to additional charges.  Exceptions may be granted for students participating in a college-sponsored activity.  During these periods, support services such as on-call housing staff, counseling, transportation, and dining are not available

All college policies remain in effect during break periods.

Definitions

Respondent: A student who has been formally alleged to have violated the Beacon College Student Code of Conduct. This individual is entitled to a fair investigation and hearing process in accordance with college policies and procedures. Minor Conduct Violation: A breach of the Student Code of Conduct that involves less serious behaviors, which typically do not cause significant harm to the college community or individuals. Sanctions for minor violations may include warnings, fines, or educational sanctions. Major Conduct Violation: A more serious violation of the Student Code of Conduct, involving behaviors that may significantly disrupt the college environment, cause harm to individuals or property, or violate local, state, or federal law. Sanctions for major violations may include suspension, expulsion, or other significant penalties.

Preponderance of the Evidence : The standard of proof used in conduct hearings at Beacon College, meaning that it is more likely than not that a violation occurred. This
