warning or coaching discipline, but serious misconduct or illegal activities will trigger formal investigation and potential immediate suspension from athletic participation pending outcome, with possible permanent removal from the team and loss of scholarship. All disciplinary actions will follow the processes outlined in the Student Handbook and College policies to ensure fairness and due process.
Athletic Expectations
The student-athlete is expected to participate fully in all team activities, including but not limited to trainings, practices, team meetings, and games/competitions. Punctual attendance at all scheduled team practices and events is mandatory, except in cases of academic conflict approved by the coach or legitimate emergencies/illness (which must be communicated to and excused by the coach or athletic department in a timely manner). Student-athletes must adhere to all team rules and standards of sportsmanship as established by the coaching staff and the College’s Athletic Department. This includes showing respect to coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, and support staff at all times. The student-athlete must refrain from unsportsmanlike conduct, such as fighting, abusive language, taunting, or any behavior that would discredit the team or College. The student-athlete is required to follow team protocols regarding attire (e.g., wearing designated team gear), punctuality, curfews, travel rules, and any other team-specific conduct guidelines both on and off the field. Violations of team conduct rules or sportsmanship standards may result in disciplinary action by the coach or Athletic Director (such as reduced playing time, suspension from games, or additional conditioning), independent of any College disciplinary processes. Failure to meet the athletic expectations and team requirements may result in consequences including scholarship reduction or termination and/or dismissal from the team. Minor infractions may be addressed with warnings or corrective measures (such as extra conditioning or temporary suspension from practice), but serious or repeated
