Student Handbook 2025-26
The student-athlete must uphold high standards of behavior and abide by all Beacon College student conduct policies as outlined in the Student Handbook. This includes adherence to local, state, and federal laws. As a representative of Beacon College, the student-athlete is expected to demonstrate integrity, leadership, and good judgment on and off campus. Behavior that violates the Student Code of Conduct – such as academic dishonesty, vandalism, harassment, bullying, hazing, violence, theft, drug or alcohol abuse, or any illegal activity – is strictly prohibited and may result in both College disciplinary action and consequences under this Agreement. In addition to the general Student Handbook, the student-athlete must adhere to all team-specific rules and expectations set by the coaching staff or Athletic Department. These may include guidelines on curfews, dress code when traveling or at events, community service obligations, and social media usage. Student-athletes should conduct themselves in person and online in a manner that reflects positively on the team and College. Derogatory or inappropriate posts on social media, or public actions that embarrass the team or College, will be considered a violation of this Agreement. The student-athlete is encouraged to use privacy settings and think carefully about content they share, understanding that they are often viewed as an ambassador of the College. Whether on campus, in competition, or in the community, the student-athlete is expected to represent Beacon College with honor. This includes demonstrating sportsmanship (as also addressed in Athletic Expectations) and being a positive role model. The student-athlete must avoid any conduct that could result in criminal charges or significant disciplinary action. If a student-athlete is arrested or charged with a serious offense, they must report it to the Athletic Director or coach immediately, and the College reserves the right to suspend or take other action while the matter is resolved.
Failure to meet the behavioral standards set forth herein may result in disciplinary measures by the College and/or Athletic Department. Such measures can include
