NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

ORIENTATION ROTATION DESCRIPTIONS & SCHEDULE

Throughout Orientation, students will rotate through sessions with their Orientation Group and their Orientation Leader. During these rotations, students will hear from a variety of offices and support resources that will help the students transition to life at Beacon College. Each Group’s rotation schedule for each session is listed below:

Navigating Social Relationships and Self-Advocacy Location: BH 107

Rotation 1: Group 1

Building meaningful connections and advocating for oneself can be challenging, but these skills are essential for personal and academic success. This session will empower students with practical strategies to navigate social situations confidently and advocate for their needs effectively. Led by the Community Educators and staff from the Counseling and Wellness Center, this session offers expert guidance to help students strengthen their skills and foster self-empowerment.

Safety at Beacon College Location: 2nd Street Classroom

Rotation 2: Group 1

Learn about personal safety and meet a few of the staff from Campus Safety. This session is led by the Director of Campus Safety, Jeff Baird.

Rotation 3: Group 3

Academic Success at Beacon College Location: Getzel Classroom

Rotation 1: Group 3

Learn the best way to get to know your faculty and meet their classroom expectations. Navigate resources like CANVAS and communicate effectively with your professors. This session is led by Beacon College faculty members.
