Navigator PREP Student Check-in & Move-in Location: Student Center | 118 E. Main Street, Leesburg, FL 34748 Welcome to Beacon, Navigator PREP students! This is your first step in joining the Beacon community. You will check-in during this time. During check-in, you’ll receive your housing key and complete the clearance process; faculty, staff, and student leaders will be on hand to answer questions. Clearance offices include: Financial Aid, Registrar, Accounting Services, Health Services, and Housing & Residential Life. If you’d like to expedite your check-in process, please complete and submit new student paperwork prior to your arrival on campus. Once your check-in has been completed and you’ve taken a picture for your student ID, spend the day moving into your new home and setting up your room! Parking is available across the street from the Student Center. Note: This check-in is only for students who participated in Navigator PREP.

Navigator PREP Dinner & Ceremony Location: Venetian Center - Harris Room | 1 Dozier Cir, Leesburg, FL 34748 Join other Navigator PREP students for a dinner and ceremony to celebrate your completion of the Navigator PREP program. Transportation to The Venetian Center will be available for anyone who needs it.

Hear from Katy Reinke, Associate Dean of Students and Title IX Coordinator as she welcomes you to the Beacon community. Meet Hanah Diebold, Associate Dean of Student Engagement and Community Standards, as she introduces you to your Orientation Group and shares an overview of the Orientation schedule.

Following breakfast, all students will meet their OLs and Orientation Groups at the Dining Commons to attend their first Orientation session of the day. Tour of Dining Services Location: Dining Commons Learn how to navigate the Dining Commons, meet staff, and learn about your nutrition options during this morning session!

10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Health & Wellness and Student Involvement Location: Palace Theater

During this session, learn about the resources and support systems offered through Health Promotions and the Counseling and Wellness Center. Learn how to get involved at Beacon,

Lunch & Break Time Location: Dining Commons Please join your Orientation Leader for lunch and enjoy a break. Convocation Location: Venetian Center - Harris Room | 1 Dozier Cir, Leesburg, FL 34748 Parents, families, students – Welcome to Beacon College! Join Dr. Hagerty, our President, as well as faculty, staff, and other incoming students for the ceremonial start to the academic year. Transportation to The Venetian Center will be available for anyone who needs it. Beacon shuttles will leave from the RAP/PAR Courtyard at 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.

Lighting the Flame and Late Night S’mores Location: Beacon Oasis Join us for this student tradition within the Division of Student Affairs! Stay and enjoy a late-night chat by the fire pit, complete with s’mores!

Following breakfast, all students will meet their OLs and Orientation Groups at the Dining Commons to debrief the Accuplacer Assessment rotations.

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Accuplacer Assessment Rotations Location: Various locations around campus

Your OL will let you know if you are part of Accuplacer Rotation #1 or Rotation #2. When you’re not completing your assessment – enjoy a morning break!

12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Goodbye BBQ Location: Dining Commons

Please join Orientation Leaders, students, and families for a special lunch. Take time for final farewells, pictures, and hugs before parents & families depart campus.

1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Student Orientation Learning Sessions Location: Various locations around campus

Throughout Orientation, students will rotate through learning sessions with their Orientation Group and their Orientation Leaders. Lunch & Break Time Location: Dining Commons Please join your Orientation Leader for lunch and enjoy a break. Learning Specialists offer individualized support unique to a student’s need and level (first-year, sophomore, junior/senior). During this time, students will be introduced to their Learning Specialist and learn more about the Learning Specialist’s role in their success at Beacon. Your OL will have more information about when and where you’re meeting your Learning Specialist. When you’re not meeting with your Learning Specialist, enjoy your break time! Community Service Project Day Location: Student Center Participate in community service projects! Come and go at your leisure during this time, and give back to the community! Classroom Tours Location: Student Center Stop by the Student Center where OLs will be on-site to help you find your classrooms and map routes to your classes. Welcome Back Luau Location: Beacon Oasis Join new and returning students for dinner, music, and fun! Dinner will be served until 7:00 p.m., but the fun lasts until 9:00 p.m.!
