Parent Statement
While Beacon College values parent and guardian involvement in supporting students, all communication with College faculty and staff must be conducted in a respectful and constructive manner. Uncivil, hostile, threatening, and/or disruptive behavior by parents or guardians may result in restricted communication with the College, removal from campus property, and/or involvement of appropriate authorities. The College reserves the right to determine appropriate boundaries for parent/guardian interactions as needed.
Academic Honor Code
The Academic Honor Code of Beacon College is based on the premise that each student has the sole responsibility: 1. To uphold high standards of academic honesty and intellectual ownership; 2. To refuse to tolerate academic dishonesty in the Beacon College community; and 3. To foster a high sense of honor and social responsibility on the part of all students.
Formal Grade Appeals
For a formal grade appeal the student must submit a written request for an administrative review to the Vice Preside of Academic Affairs (VPAA). The student must explain the reason for the request. The faculty member will submit all necessary information within two (2) business days for the request, and the VPAA will ask three (3) faculty members at random to review the paperwork.
