College community. Status as a student indicates one’s acceptance of these obligations and duties.
Academic Honor Code
The Academic Honor Code of Beacon College is based on the premise that each student has the sole responsibility: 1. To uphold high standards of academic honesty and intellectual ownership; 2. To refuse to tolerate academic dishonesty in the Beacon College community; and 3. To foster a high sense of honor and social responsibility on the part of all students.
Formal Grade Appeals
For a formal grade appeal the student must submit a written request for an administrative review to the Vice Preside of Academic Affairs (VPAA). The student must explain the reason for the request. The faculty member will submit all necessary information within two (2) business days for the request, and the VPAA will ask three (3) faculty members at random to review the paperwork. The faculty members will examine the information and anonymously vote to determine if the appeal is approved or denied.
Voluntary and Involuntary Leave from the College
Voluntary Leave
At times, due to a student’s mental health, a medical condition, serious family issues, or other extenuating circumstances, a student may request a voluntary leave.
A voluntary leave is a temporary separation from the College for a specified period of time.
