5. Plagiarism a. The use and passing off of ideas or writings of another, including digitally curated sources, as one’s own. b. The representation of words, ideas, illustrations, structure, computer code, other expression or media of another as one’s own and/or failing to properly cite direct, paraphrased or summarized materials. c. Self-plagiarism which involves the submission of the same academic work more than once without the prior permission of the instructor and/or failure to correctly cite previous work written by the same student.
Academic Integrity Policy Violation Sanctions
Faculty members are expected to report all incidents of misconduct through the Maxient system using the following link: https://cm.maxient.com/reportingform.php?BeaconCollege&layout_id=1.
Academic Misconduct Sanctions may include, but are not limited to the following:
Policy Violation
First Violation
Second Violation
Third Violation
Academic Misconduct, Cheating, Fabrication, or Plagiarism
Assignment in question will receive a zero “0” grade Removal from class and required interventions assigned before return. Interventions may include, but are not limited to:
Student referred to a hearing before the Academic Committee
Resubmission of the assignment in question
Student referred to a hearing before the Academic Committee
Faculty will intervene and address situation
Disturbance in the Classroom
