who drops below full-time status is immediately ineligible for athletic competition until full-time status is regained.

The student athlete must meet with their assigned Learning Specialist on a weekly basis. The student athlete must attend at least one Open Learning Session per week. The student athlete must comply with the College’s Academic honor code and Student handbook, and otherwise uphold academic honest and integrity. By the end of the first semester of enrollment, the student-athlete must have at least a 1.6 GPA to remain eligible. If a sport’s season spans two semesters and the student athlete becomes academically ineligible at the mid-year break, the student-athlete shall cease competition as of January 1st. Furthermore, after accumulating 24–47 total credit hours in college, the student-athlete must have achieved at least a 1.75 cumulative GPA. After accumulating 48 or more total credit hours, the student-athlete must have achieved at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA. These thresholds are required for continuing athletic eligibility in accordance with USCAA academic standards. A student athlete who becomes academically ineligible must regain their eligibility via GPA requirements prior to being allowed to participate in competitive athletics again. Failure to meet the academic requirements outlined herein (including maintaining required enrollment status, credit completion, GPA, and participation in academic support) may result in disciplinary action. Consequences can include suspension from competition, reduction or cancellation of the athletic scholarship, and/or dismissal from the team.

Behavioral Requirements

The student-athlete must uphold high standards of behavior and abide by all Beacon College student conduct policies as outlined in the Student Handbook.
