IMPORTANT NOTES: ● Navigator PREP Student Check-in & Move-In

○ Wednesday, August 21, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (for non-Navigator PREP students and their families) ● New Student Orientation: Wednesday, August 21, 2024 ‒ Sunday, August 25, 2024

○ New Student Orientation is a required program for all incoming students ○ All meals for students are provided throughout the duration of Orientation

● For parents and family members unable to attend Orientation in-person, many program sessions will be livestreamed through the Zoom platform. The link to the sessions will be shared to families before the start of Orientation.

Tuesday, August 20, 2024 for Navigator PREP students and families only

10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Navigator PREP Student Check-in & Move-in Location: Student Center | 118 E. Main Street, Leesburg, FL 34748 Welcome to Beacon, Navigator PREP students! This is your first step in joining the Beacon community. You will check-in during this time. During check-in, you’ll receive your housing key and complete the clearance process; faculty, staff, and student leaders will be on hand to answer questions. Clearance offices include: Financial Aid, Registrar, Accounting Services, Health Services, and Housing & Residential Life. If you’d like to expedite your check-in process, please complete and submit new student paperwork prior to your arrival on campus. Once your check-in has been completed and you’ve taken a picture for your student ID, spend the day moving into your new home and setting up your room!

Navigator PREP Dinner & Ceremony Location: Venetian Center - Harris Room | 1 Dozier Cir, Leesburg, FL 34748 Join other Navigator PREP students for a dinner and ceremony to celebrate your completion of the Navigator PREP program. Transportation to The Venetian Center will be available for anyone who needs it.

10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Campus Walking Tour with Admissions (optional) Location: RAP/PAR Courtyard

3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Students and their families are invited to take a brief walking tour with the Admissions Team to learn about the campus! Classrooms, support offices, and social hangout spaces will be reviewed to familiarize students and family members about life at Beacon College.

4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Orientation Overview Location: TBD

Hear from Katy Reinke, Associate Dean of Students and Title IX Coordinator as she welcomes you to the Beacon community. Meet Hanah Diebold, Associate Dean of Student Engagement and Community Standards, as she introduces you to your Orientation Group and shares an overview of the Orientation schedule. Dinner (on own) Explore Leesburg or the surrounding area before joining our evening reception, social, and welcome event! Parent and Family Social and Dinner Location: Palace Theater | 414 W. Main St., Leesburg, FL 34748 Join us for a welcome reception with Dr. George Hagerty – Beacon College President, Dr. Kevin Reilly – Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dana Manzo – Vice President of Student Affairs, and additional faculty and staff from the College. Desserts served and socializing begins at 6:30 p.m. Formal program begins at 7:00 p.m.

Students transitioning to college life may experience unique challenges and opportunities. During this time, we will dive deep and discuss what these might look like for your student, as well as the resources and supports available to assist during this time.

10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Health & Wellness and Student Involvement Location: Palace Theater

During this session, learn about the resources and support systems offered through Health Promotions and the Counseling and Wellness Center. Learn how to get involved at Beacon, where students can find resources for engagement, and discover ways to step outside your comfort zone! Convocation Location: Venetian Center - Harris Room | 1 Dozier Cir, Leesburg, FL 34748 Parents, families, students – Welcome to Beacon College! Join Dr. Hagerty, our President, as well as faculty, staff, and other incoming students for the ceremonial start to the academic year. Transportation to The Venetian Center will be available for anyone who needs it. Beacon shuttles will leave from the RAP/PAR Courtyard at 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. Lunch (on own)
