AGENDA DETAILS

Quest for Success Through an interactive game, students will learn how the Center for Student Success and Learning Specialists supports academic, executive‑function, and organizational skill development during their time at Beacon. Housing Experience Students spend time in a residence hall common area learning about campus housing, roommate relationships, and building community, with an interactive activity that highlights independence and daily living skills. Campus Culture Experience Hosted in the Fitness Center, this session features a VR demonstration while students learn about clubs and organizations, activities, athletics and ways to get involved and build connections on campus. Problem-Solving Experience Explore how Beacon teaches math differently — through small classes, real-world applications, and individualized support that build confidence and mastery. Learn why Beacon’s math success rates are so strong and how students develop practical skills. Communication Experience Discover how Beacon’s English courses focus on communication, critical thinking, and real-world skills. This session highlights Beacon’s student-centered approach to reading and writing instruction that helps students grow as confident, capable communicators. Academic Programs & Supports An overview of Beacon’s academic programs, classroom experience, and learning supports, with insight into how students are supported in building confidence, independence, and academic success. Career Preparation Services Learn how Beacon integrates career readiness into every year of the student experience, including experiential learning requirements, career counseling, and support for transitioning from college to meaningful employment. Student Life and Residential Support An introduction to the wraparound student life supports available outside the classroom — including activities and athletics, wellness resources, residential life, leadership and community-building opportunities. Parent Communication & Building Autonomy Learn how parent-student communication changes in college and explore practical ways to support independence, self-advocacy, and college readiness before students leave home. Financial Aid & Admissions A walkthrough of the admissions process, financial aid options, timelines, and next steps — with time for questions to help families plan confidently.
