Why You’ll Love Studying Studio Arts at Beacon Whether your passion is painting or photography, drawing or sculpture, you’ll be encouraged to explore a variety of mediums and art methods to better develop your own ideas and skills. You’ll learn in a community alongside fellow emerging artists and work closely with gifted and nationally recognized faculty- artists who bring years of experience to your studies. They will inspire and nurture your growth and creativity. Inspiring Spaces Explore the arts in Beacon’s fully equipped art studios, which includes a wood workshop, metal workshop, glass and ceramic kilns, a drawing/painting studio and mixed-use studios. You’ll also have the opportunity to view and participate in gallery exhibits in our Kristin Michelle Mason Art Gallery, which features the work of guest artists, faculty members and studio art majors. Hands-on Training Nothing compares to learning on the job. Our Studio Arts majors are required to complete two internships. The knowledge, skills and experience you gain — in the classroom and through internships — will boost your résumé and your confidence with real-world, real-work experience.
