After all information has been presented, the Conduct Hearing Officer will review the findings and come to a decision. The student will be notified of the outcome according to the timelines set forth herein.

Student Conduct Committee

In instances of a major conduct allegation where the resulting sanctions could include Suspension or Expulsion from the College, the Student Conduct Committee (SCC) will hear the case, make decisions regarding alleged policy violations and charges, and recommend appropriate sanction(s) according to the timelines set forth herein. A student may choose to waive their right to appear before the Student Conduct Committee. If a student fails to appear for their meeting or if the student waives their rights to appear before the committee, the Student Conduct Committee will hear and decide the case despite the student’s absence. In instances where the Student Conduct Committee will determine the outcome, prior to the Committee hearing, the Dean, or designee, will meet with the respondent student to discuss their rights, the SCC process and procedure, and take the initial student statement. The Dean or their designee will also be responsible for taking any additional witness statements. At the conclusion of the Student Conduct Committee Hearing, after all information has been decided, the Dean, or designee, will notify the respondent student of the outcome and sanctions imposed, if any.

Interim Suspension

Following the submission of a referral, if the Dean, or their designee, believes that the information supporting the allegations of misconduct is reliable, and determines that the continued presence of the student on the College campus poses a threat to any
