The Dean, or a designee, will determine whether further fact-finding is warranted. If the Dean, or their designee, determines that further fact-finding is necessary, they will provide to the respondent student the alleged violation(s), corresponding charge(s), and the next steps of the conduct process. The Dean, or their designee, will then conduct an investigation, taking statements from individuals associated with the alleged misconduct and collecting relevant evidence.

Conduct Timelines

From the time a case is assigned to them, the Conduct Hearing Officer should process the case and send initial communication to the respondent within three (3) business days.

A conduct meeting should be held within ten (10) business days of the initial case assignment.

Likewise, a Student Conduct Committee hearing will take place within ten (10) business days of the initial case assignment. Conduct Committee Hearing materials will be provided to the respondent four (4) days prior to the hearing taking place or as soon as practical when witness materials have been submitted untimely. In instances of a minor conduct allegation, upon completion of the Conduct Meeting a conduct determination will be made and communicated within four (4) business days. In instances of a major conduct allegation, the Student Conduct Committee has two (2) business days to decide and communicate the decision.

In instances of either a minor or major conduct allegation, from the time a decision is made and sent out, a student has four (4) business days to submit an appeal.

Holidays, College break periods, and extenuating circumstances may create exceptions to these outlined timelines for college personnel.
