Student Handbook 2024-25

In instances of either a minor or major conduct allegation, from the time a decision is made and sent out, a student has four (4) business days to sign paperwork accepting the outcome of the hearing or to submit an appeal. No sanctions should be imposed during the open appeal time.

Holidays, College break periods, and extenuating circumstances may create exceptions to these outlined timelines for college personnel.

Student Conduct Meeting

If the Conduct Hearing Officer determines that a Student Conduct Meeting is appropriate for a minor conduct allegation, the student will attend to discuss the student’s rights, policy violation(s) and related charge(s), the incident(s), the student’s involvement, the student’s options in attempting to resolve the matter, and possible sanction(s). After all information has been presented, the Conduct Hearing Officer will review the findings and come to a decision. The student will be notified of the outcome according to the timelines set forth herein. In instances of a major conduct allegation where the resulting sanctions could include Suspension or Expulsion from the College, the Student Conduct Committee (SCC) will hear the case, make decisions regarding alleged policy violations and charges, and determine the appropriate sanction(s) according to the timelines set forth herein. A student may choose to waive their right to appear before the Student Conduct Committee. If a student fails to appear for their meeting or if the student waives their rights to appear before the committee, the Student Conduct Committee will hear and decide the case despite the student’s absence.
