CODE OF CONDUCT

We respect each other and honor diversity. Students and staff treat everyone equally. We show each other empathy and are mindful of boundaries to ensure that each person feels emotionally and physically safe. We are an inclusive environment that welcomes members from various communities. We honor everyone’s journey to a successful future. We respect each individual’s goals, ambitions, efforts, and progress. We recognize that others are on a different journey than ourselves. We show pride in our own work and celebrate our accomplishments without minimizing others. We are honest and accountable. We are part of a community that centers on collaboration to foster individual growth. When we make mistakes, we take ownership of our choices so we can learn from our decisions. We resolve conflicts without violence. Conflict is a healthy and expected part of any community. We resolve our issues through appropriate communication. When problem-solving becomes difficult, we ask for support from professionals. We take care of ourselves and others. Self-care routines and monitoring our emotional health are essential skills that we practice during Summer for Success. We take care of each other by promoting healthy choices in our community. We are respectful of the environment and public spaces. We recognize that we are guests of Beacon College, Leesburg, and other sites we visit. We follow rules to ensure that we leave each location as clean as we found it.
