Next Steps to Completing Your Financial Aid
This document walks accepted students through the process of accepting their financial aid awards through the Beacon College student portal.
HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR FINANCIAL AID PROCESS

To complete the entire financial aid process, please be sure to complete the steps below. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Financial Aid via email at financialaid@beaconcollege.edu or 1-877-340-4027 .
STEP ONE:
Accept (or decline) your awards in the financial aid portal.
Please view your awards in the financial aid portal and accept or decline for each award offered. Your aid will not be processed until a response is received for each award. 1. Go to the Beacon College student portal at https://my.beaconcollege.edu/ics . 2. On the left-hand menu, under Quick Links, click the “Financial Aid Portal” link. 3. If you are prompted to sign-in through Microsoft, type in your @beaconcollege.edu email address and associated password. a. If you do not know your log-in ID and password please contact the Technology Department at ithelpdesk@beaconcollege.edu for assistance. A Beacon College account will be created after receipt of your Intent to Enroll and nonrefundable deposit. b. If you have never logged into your Beacon email account before, you will need to do so at https://outlook.office.com/mail/ before you can log into the financial aid portal with your new Beacon account. Microsoft Outlook will ask you to configure your account recovery settings. Once this is complete, you will be able to use this account to access the financial aid portal and other Beacon College resources. 4. From here, on the top right-hand corner of your screen, click the drop-down menu for the “Current Award Year” and select the current academic year. 5. In the left-hand menu, select “My Aid Eligibility.” Confirm the details in this section are accurate and make updates if needed. 6. Next, click “Accept/Decline Your Aid” in the left-hand menu. 7. Under “Your Awards,” there will be a drop-down box under each award option. Make a selection (“Accept” or “Decline”) for each award. To lock in your selections, click the “Submit” button at the bottom of this section. 8. Next, go back to the left-hand menu and select “Misisng Requirements & Notices.” Review any missing items and complete them as needed. a. If you are missing a form, please click on “View Forms Here” at the base of this section. You can scan and upload that document directly within this portal. Be sure to review each form CAREFULLY before you scan & upload documents. b. If the missing item contains a hyperlink, it will automatically redirect you to the location to complete online and submit.

STEP TWO:
Complete the Online Entrance Counseling for the Subsidized/ Unsubsidized Loan Program
New students who are attending Beacon College or receiving Federal Direct Loans for the first time must complete Entrance Loan Counseling. 1. Go to https://studentaid.gov 2. Log in using your FSA ID 3. Select “Complete Aid Process” 4. Select “Complete Entrance Counseling” 5. Click the Start button 6. In the left-hand margin, select “Select School to Notify”, choose state of “Florida” and then select “Beacon College” as a school to be notified. Please note that when you select Beacon College, it should show the school code and address on the screen. Click “Notify This School”. 7. In the middle section of the screen, select the Student Type of “I am completing entrance to receive Direct Loans as an undergraduate student.” 8. Click Continue 9. Complete the counseling until you submit
STEP THREE:
Complete the Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan Master Promissory Note
1. Go to https://studentaid.gov 2. Log in using your FSA ID 3. Select “Complete Aid Process” 4. Select “Complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN)” 5. Select the first Start Button for MPN for Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans 6. Complete the all steps including sign and submit

NO.
CONTINUE TO STEP FOUR.

STEP FOUR:
Parents of Dependent Students: Apply for the Parent PLUS Loan
In addition to accepting the Parent PLUS Loan, you must also submit a credit application to determine if you are approved for the Parent PLUS Loan. 1. The parent will need to go to https://studentaid.gov 2. Log in using your (the parent’s) FSA ID 3. Select “Apply for aid” 4. Select “Apply for a Parent PLUS Loan” 5. Click the Start button 6. Complete the all steps including credit check and submit.
IF/WHEN YOUR PARENT PLUS LOAN CREDIT APPLICATION IS APPROVED, PLEASE PROCEED TO STEP FIVE.
STEP FIVE:
Parents of Dependent Students: Complete the Parent PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note
In addition to accepting the Parent PLUS Loan, you must also submit a credit application. If the credit is approved, you must submit the Parent PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note. 1. Go to https://studentaid.gov 2. Log in using your FSA ID 3. Select “Complete Aid Process”
4. Select “Complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN)” 5. Select the third Start Button for PLUS MPN for Parents 6. Complete the all steps including sign and submit
YOU’RE ALL SET FOR NOW! Please be aware that your financial aid package may be revised when necessary due to any changes in your enrollment, federal regulations, and/or academic progress.
