6. Proactive Development of Beacon’s Student Support Team When you start classes at Beacon, we’ll have the people and services you need in place for you, because we’ve had the opportunity to get to know your needs and interests. Your transition counselor and team will work with Beacon’s Office of Student Engagement & Success to help with your learning specialist assignments, first semester courses, and housing assignments — as well as recommend any individual or group-based counseling needed to support your success. 7. Parent-Based Support as the Transition to Beacon Draws Near Your parents can work with your transition counselor to ensure: • Details regarding move-in are settled • All forms (medical, housing, academic) are submitted • Issues resolved around financial aid and billing Your parents also will develop a thorough understanding of the communication process at Beacon so they can appropriately support you after you arrive on campus. 8. Early Move-In and Final Celebration • You’ll move in with other Navigator PREP Plus students a day earlier than other students • You’ll join in a final celebration with all Navigator PREP students and parents, plus key members of the College (including the President!)
