How Do I Apply for Financial Aid? For maximum financial aid consideration at Beacon College, you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) . The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for federal and state financial aid, as well as many Beacon-funded awards. Families traditionally start filing the FAFSA beginning October 1; however, in 2023, the 2024-25 FAFSA will not be available until December 2023. Get a head start by creating your student profile now — there is no need to wait until you are admitted. NOTE: If you plan to enroll at Beacon College in Spring 2023, you can file the FAFSA now using the 2023-24 form. Go to studentaid.gov to get started and apply. Financial Aid Basics FEDERAL AID PROGRAMS Federal Pell Grants are available to undergraduate students only and they do not have to be repaid. Your eligibility for a Pell Grant is determined by the FAFSA. The maximum 2023-24 award is $7,395. Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants are awarded to students with exceptional financial need and are based on Beacon’s allotment of funds, as determined by the federal government. Awards can range from $100 to $4,000 and do not require repayment.

STATE GRANTS Florida State Grants — Florida offers several state-funded financial aid programs to qualifying students who meet state residency requirements. They include the no-need Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) Grant and the Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) for students significant financial need. For details, contact your high school guidance office or Beacon’s Financial Aid Office. Other States — Many states allow students to carry state aid with them to colleges outside of their home state. Check with your high school counselor on what programs might be available and how to file for assistance.
