When Serena Partlow wasn’t in class or studying, she could be found rehearsing with Beacon Voices, a choral group that formed in 2018 and has performed on and off campus. The chorus also holds karaoke evenings every few weeks in The Chopping Block, Beacon College’s dining hall. As secretary of Beacon’s Student Government Association, Partlow stayed busy organizing the most recent Earth Day event and, with the SGA vice president, rewrote the SGA constitution. Partlow also volunteered at the campus writing center and is proud of the expanded activities the center offers. In addition to helping Beacon students with their papers and projects, Partlow said, “we have a poetry contest and a writing contest for short stories.” Knitting the Social Fabric
